Self Reckoning
الحَمدُ للهِ، وَالصَّلَاةُ وَالسَّلَامُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ، وَأَشهَدُ أَن لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَحدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، وَأَشهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ، وَبَعدُ:
قَالَ تَعَالَى: {يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَلْتَنظُرْ نَفْسٌ مَّا قَدَّمَتْ لِغَدٍ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ خَبِيرٌ بِمَا تَعْمَلُون}
[الحشر:18].
Ibn al-Qayyim said:
"The verse indicates that the soul must be held accountable, and the Almighty says: Let one of you consider what he has done for the Day of Resurrection, what good works do you save?Or one of the disadvantages that preceded him? "
(إغاثة اللهفان [1/ 152]).
And self-accounting are two types: type before work, and type after.
As for the first type: it is to stand at the first concern and will consider: Is the work in accordance with the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger, peace be upon him or not? If he agrees with the oldest, although it is contrary to leave, then look: Is doing better for him than leaving? Or left him better than he did? The second was: leaving him did not offer it, then be seen: if it was for God went, though for pride, praise, money of the creature left.
The second type: It is self-accounting after work, which is three types: First: accountable for obedience shortened by the right of God Almighty did not expect it in the manner that should, and the right of God in obedience six things: sincerity to God at work, advice to God, follow the Prophet peace be upon him Allaah and peace be upon him, witnesses of the scene of charity in him, witnesses ment of God upon him, witnesses of his shortcomings, then all accountable himself Has fulfilled these shrines right? Did he bring it in this obedience? Second: to hold himself accountable to the terminology, if he knew that he had committed something to remedy repentance, forgiveness, and marital good deeds. Third: to hold himself accountable for every action he left better than doing. Fourth: to hold himself accountable for something permissible, or usual, why did he? Did God and he hereafter want him? Will be a winner, or wanted by the world and urgent? Lose that profit (إغاثة اللهفان [1/ 148-149]).
Omar ibn al-Khattab said, may Allah be pleased with him: "Haspoa yourselves before Thaspoa, and weigh yourselves before Mnoa, it is easier for you in the account tomorrow, Thaspoa yourselves today, and Tzinoa to display larger, that day you show no secret of you hidden" (إغاثة اللهفان [1/ 145]).
Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him: "I heard 'Umar ibn al-Khattab may Allah be pleased with him days have left with him until a wall came I heard him say between me and him the wall of a cavity wall: Omar ibn al-Khattab Commander of the Faithful Squirt, وَاللهِ لَتَتَّقِيَنَّ اللهَ ابنَ الخَطَّابِ أَو لَيُعَذِّبَنَّكَ"
(موطأ الإمام مالك [1800]).
One of the benefits of self-accounting: First: see the flaws of the self, and who did not see the defect himself could not remove.
Second: Evidence of fear of God and willingness to meet him.
Third: The insurer shows the reality of profit and loss.
Fourth: self-accountability in the world relieves the believer on the Day of Resurrection.
Fifthly: compliance with the command of Allah Almighty.
Sixth: away from inattention, and continue to sin, and sins.
Seventh: Appointment of the believer, and help him to remedy the lack of statutes, and naafil.
Eighth: Fruit and love of God bear fruit.
Ninth: He knows the right of God Almighty, and did not know the right of God Almighty, the worship is hardly useful, which is very useful.
Tenth: that the goodness of the heart by self-accounting, and corruption by neglect and messaging with.
(إغاثة اللهفان [1/ 156] ونضرة النعيم في مكارم أخلاق الرسول الكريم صلى اللهُ عليه وسلم [8/ 3317]، [3324]).
وَالحَمدُ للهِ رَبِّ العَالَمِينَ، وَصَلَّى اللهُ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى نَبِيِّنَا مُحَمَّدٍ، وَعَلَى آلِهِ وَصَحبِهِ أَجمَعِينَ.
