Disunnahkan membaca takbir di rumah, di masjid, di pasar, di kendaraan, di jalan, di rumah sakit, di kantor, dan di tempat-tempat umum sebagai syiar keagamaan. Pelaksanaan takbir bisa dilaksanakan sendiri atau bersama-sama, dengan cara jahr (suara keras) atau sirr (pelan).
