The mobile application entitled Prakruti Yoga is especially designed for students of FYBAMS, PG, Ph.D. course and Ayurveda practitioners to appraise the practice of prakruti assessment and accordingly implement yoga in terms of diet, daily regimen, yogasana, pranayama and career guidance as a preventive measure for future ailments.

Prakruti or constitution is one of the core philosophies of Ayurveda. The predominance of dosha determines the doshaja prakruti- the functional or the energetic condition of the body. For maintaining health, regime that is different or opposite the constitutional type should be followed. The three dosha (Vata, Pitta and Kapha), constantly fluctuate according to the daily diet, activities, climate and many more factors. There is also physiological variation of dosha according to age, season, day and night time and digestion of food. Each prakruti (constitution) has its own drawbacks and may prone to specific health issues in future if not balanced by daily diet and routine chores.

Every individual should take diet suitable to his predominant constitutional dosha in order to balance them. According to Charak if vata prakruti person takes vata aggravating food then he may suffer from disease and that person’s strength, luster, happiness, life may be hampered. This is true for pitta and kapha prakruti also. Diet according to prakruti depends on quality of food, quantity of food, manner of intake, combination of food and frequency of intake. So if person follows these guidelines then he can live disease free life.

Ayurveda and Yoga shastra are originated from the same source and share a common history and cultural foundation. Yogasana and pranayama is often advised for a long duration or as a routine. Any routine physiological or psychological alteration including yogasana may affect the prakruti positively or negatively. Yogasana practice encouraging the opposite qualities of prakruti can definitely bring back balance of dosha.
This application is a sincere effort made in the form of Questionnaires to evaluate deha prakruti considering the qualities particular dosha as given in Charak Samhita. Assessment is done according to Questionnaires and person’s response will be recorded. While answering these questions, persons are expected to assess lifelong tendency of particular habit and not temporary changes due to seasonal or diseased condition. The analysis of each dosha will be done on the basis of calculated percentage and prakruti will be decided as per the dominant dosha. Accordingly diet, daily regimen, yogasana and pranayama considering age, season, time of day and career guidance to be followed for prevention of prakruti prone diseases is suggested. This honest endeavor will be successful if you all achieve real benefit from this application.
