Knowledge, science and technology play an important role and empower people to get prepared and manage disasters. With the objective of creating solutions to reduce natural disaster risks and to better prepare for and respond to major natural disasters, the Disaster Risk Management Unit -DRM Unit has developed this mobile application targeting the Lebanese public to help raise their awareness, preparedness, early warning and response on disasters. As stated by the Head of the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction Ms. Margareta Wahlström, "Technology and science have a role to play in making the planet a safer and more resilient place."
This mobile application performs a variety of functions including:
- Information on the major disaster facing Lebanon,
- Information on how to be prepared for different types of disaster: before, during and after,
- Information on building your emergency kit
- Link to useful Disaster Risk Management Contacts
- Subscription to early warning and alerts as well as receiving early warning messages
By a simple click you are better prepared for and respond to major natural disasters, spread the word and support increasing Lebanon's resilience.
