O primeiro teledisco de Portugal pertence a uma banda da Amadora , bem como a sua passagem na MTV ,foi da Amadora a primeira banda a passar na MTV.

Do Fado ao metal é dificil não encontrar um músico da Amadora.
Pretendemos homenagear todos os músicos com este festival.
A Amadora merece ter palco para os artistas consagrados , bem como para a nova geração poder mostrar o seu trabalho.

A Associação Amadora Passado Presente e Futuro tem como um dos objectivos e missão , preservar e mostrar o património da Cidade, seja ele histórico ou actual, material ou imaterial.

Outra das missões da APPF é trazer cultura à Amadora e fazer com que a Cidade deixe de ser um suburbio cinzento onde apenas dormimos.

O Rock in Amadora nasce destas vontades da Associação Amadora Passado Presente e Futuro que com o apoio da Junta de Freguesia da Alfragide consegue passar de vontade à realidade.
