Our institution is based on state syllabus, offering an educational programme from a Lower Primary to Higher Secondary, with a historical journey beyond 90 years. The school is under the management of Mar Thoma Syrian Ebenezer Church, Thrissur, presently headed by our beloved Vicar, Rev. Jacob C Mathew.

The Mar Thoma Girls Higher Secondary School, which was started as a lower primary school is located in the midst of Thrissur town, (near Puthan Palli )has completed 90 years of its fruitful service to the society. Genesis In 1920, the Malankara Mar Thoma Syrian Gospel Mission purchased a piece of land in Erinjery Angady (where the present school is located) and built ‘Mar Thoma Salem Hall’ for worship and educational activities. Subsequently another piece of land was purchased by the management in East Fort (where the present Mar Thoma Syrian Ebenezer Church is located) and built a church, thereby making available Salem Mar Thoma Hall exclusively for educational and social activities. In June 1925, a Lower Primary Malayalam School was started to cater to the needs of the local girls students of lower socio-economic strata who could not afford education at the local English medium schools. This was the great vision of our forefathers who decided to put to practice the teachings of Jesus Christ who had a concern for the marginalized. Growth Four years later, in June 1929, the ‘Preparatory Class’ was started.

In June 1930 the school was upgraded as Lower Secondary School, and a new block was constructed where the school office functioned till 2002. In March 1933, the Mar Thoma Lower Secondary School presented the first batch of students for the public examination. In 1948, the school was upgraded as a High School. In 1950 a new building was constructed for the primary school on the northern side, and subsequently this was upgraded into a two-storied building. During 2002-’03 a major renovation of the school building was done with construction of a three-storied building to cater to then and future requirements of the school. In 2010, the government sanctioned the Higher Secondary School with two Divisions in science and one Division in commerce.

Present Status :- The Higher Secondary section has 285 students and 16 teachers and 3 non-teaching staff.
