About this app

Tafsir al-Jalalain, arti harfiah: "tafsir dua Jalal" adalah sebuah kitab tafsir al-Qur'an terkenal, yang awalnya disusun oleh Jalaluddin al-Mahalli pada tahun 1459, dan kemudian dilanjutkan oleh muridnya Jalaluddin as-Suyuthi pada tahun 1505. Kitab tafsir ini umumnya dianggap sebagai kitab tafsir klasik Sunni yang banyak dijadikan rujukan, sebab dianggap mudah dipahami dan terdiri dari hanya satu jilid saja.

Jalaludin al-Mahalli mengawali penulisan tafsir sejak dari awal surah Al-Kahfi sampai dengan akhir surah An-Naas, setelah itu ia menafsirkan surah Al-Fatihah sampai selesai. Al-Mahalli kemudian wafat sebelum sempat melanjutkannya. Jalaluddin as-Suyuthi kemudian melanjutkannya, dan memulai dari surah Al-Baqarah sampai dengan surah Al-Isra'. Kemudian ia meletakkan tafsir surah Al-Fatihah pada bagian akhir urutan tafsir dari Al-Mahalli yang sebelumnya. Namun, masih terdapat perbedaan pendapat mengenai kadar kerja masing-masing penafsir tersebut.
