About this app

Maryam Abacha American University of Niger, (MAAUN) was nurtured in 2013. It is a private University located in Maradi, Niger Republic, just about 90KM away from Katsina State of Nigeria. It is founded by Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, a Nigerian and veteran Journalist. The institution is named after the former first lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Hajiya Maryam Sani Abacha for her philanthropic gesture and contribution to the development of the African continent. The University was recommended by Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific research of Niger Republic and also recommended by the Evaluation & Accreditation Division/Education Support Services Department of the Federal Ministry of Education, Abuja. The location of the institution is favourable and highly conducive for learning.

MAAUN is established to provide knowledge for research and development of needed manpower resources for the growth of students and the society at large. It is also established to cater for the needs and aspirations of students in areas of learning, research and development studies. It is the first English University in Niger Republic. The thrust of the university is purely based on knowledge, creativity, and discipline and manpower development. It is the policy of the institution to enhance discipline, and develop its learning based on the World best practice, reputation and ingenuity.
