Thomas Starr King is the highest performing middle school in Local District 4. But producing 21st century scholars doesn’t happen by accident. It takes effort and dedication from everyone – including staff, teachers, parents and community. It takes a village to raise a child and King MS has the best village in LA!

Friends of King is a 501 c3 non-profit organization of volunteer parents dedicated to enriching education and fostering community at Thomas Starr King Middle School. Founded by Tomas O’Grady, of Enrich LA.org, and with his guidance, FOK has become a well-oiled machine, taking on the needs of the school to enable the students to compete with the wealthier schools.

Friends of King provides an opportunity for the families that make up King Middle School’s diverse magnet schools, to come together and ensure that all of our kids receive the high-quality 21st century education they deserve.
