The Pope High School Band of Marietta, GA has earned a reputation for excellence in all areas of performance and education. Founded in 1987, the band has earned over 400 awards for outstanding performance in marching band, including the prestigious Bands of America championships, and has performed in major sports stadiums across the continental U.S.

The Pope band has appeared in parades across the country, in Hawaii, and in London, England, and has been viewed by literally tens of millions of spectators. The band received the coveted Sudler Shield of Marching Excellence from the John Philip Sousa Foundation.

The Pope symphonic bands have performed at numerous state, region and national concert band events, including four performances at the BOA National Concert Band Festival. Pope places large numbers of students in all state and honor bands each year.

In addition, Pope Bands and band members have been featured in TV commercials, on local TV programs, and in a stage production at the Fox Theater in Atlanta. Over a dozen Pope alumni are now music educators, and several more perform professionally in bands and orchestras across the United States.
