About this app

Austin Park is a high energy modern Pop Rock band from Jacksonville, Florida.

The band was formed in 2005 in Jacksonville, FL by singer songwriter Jeff Congo, and balances both cover and original shows. Whether performing covers at clubs or corporate events, or originals supporting a major act, the audience can expect a high energy, interactive experience they are sure to engage in, and build a lasting memory!

Since forming in 2005, the band has performed over 1,000 shows (both cover and original), in venues like Tootsies Word Famous Orchid Lounge in Nashville, TN, The Jacksonville Landing in Jacksonville, FL, and GTMO - Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Austin Park has provided support for talented major recording artists such as 3OH!3, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Molly Hatchet, RED, Saving Abel, Yellow Card, Country starts Joey and Rory, and many, many others.

In June of 2000, guided by his drive for musical chemistry, Jeff relocated from Boston, MA to Jacksonville, FL., where he met BMI recording artist singer songwriter producer Lucio Rubino (StorySide B, Paramore, Flock of Sea Gulls). The duo quickly began writing and recording songs together. After five years and an album worth of songs in his hand, Congo turned to the local music scene and recruited a talented line-up of local musicians, such as Preston Pohl (The Voice, Season 5), and began performing around the Northeast Florida region.

In 2008, the band released their self-titled debut album, and saw international success when their single, “The Real Me,” was featured by Julie Hadden (the Biggest Loser, Season 4), on her weight loss transformation video. Julie also quoted inspirational lines from the song in her book, “Fat Chance: Losing Weight, Gaining My Worth.”

The band signed with Gray Area Marketing in 2013, with Publicist Katie Mancusso. A mid-summer trip performing showcases in Nashville, TN in 2013 proved a worthwhile trip. After a performance at the World Famous, Tootsies Orchid Lounge, Jeff was approached by producers at ZOD Lounge Productions and began writing with many well-known Nashville songwriters, (such as Scott Fairclough, Lifehouse), working on new songs for the band.

Their lead-off single titled, “Life in Dixie,” was co-written by Jeff Congo and Scott Fairclough (Lifehouse), will hit iTunes early 2015. The band has since been spending their time between Jacksonville and Nashville writing and recording songs for an upcoming album release.

The band is currently sponsored by Roar Clothing Line and Jagermeister
