This is a useless app. I have turned on location tracking, notifications, and override do not disturb, but I have yet to receive a single alert on my phone. We've had at least three earthquakes 4.5 or higher but no notifications at all. Also, instead of tracking my location at every single moment, give us the option to simply enter our zip code. Lastly, every individual has a different tolerance for earthquakes, so allow us to set the magnitude at which to receive notifications.

This app is up-to-date, including no-disturb override. However, seriously disappointed that a +4.5 EQ, with an epicenter 9 miles away from DTLA (personal location), was not announced. Not even with delay. The City of LA wasted money on this and it's entirely pointless. Google sent me even a notification without me signing up for their service.

Great app, except there was no notification last night when we had a 4.6 Earthquake. I checked all the settings to make sure my phone allows the app to send notification at all time. After a few hours, I decided to uninstall it because it doesn't do the 1 thing I needed this app to do, which is to send notification.

No option to override do not disturb on android 10 (LG V60). Is this all written for an older version of Android? No additional options in settings or the app. Would be nice if it could also have an option to make a loud noise for earthquakes of a certain threshold !!

I am in Burbank, CA (LA County) and my ShakeAlert LA app did not go off or give me any notifications later on for the 4.5 earthquake on September 18, 2020 at 11:38pm South of El Monte (LA county). I turned on the local news and they reported that many others did not receive alerts. Please provide information on how to make this App work.

Do not disturb override is not working! Got a notification of the 4.5 quake but no sound. I was lucky and using my phone at the time. Got a 2 to 3 second warning. Thank you! Please fix! It works!

About this app

ShakeAlertLA alerts you that an earthquake has been detected and that you may soon feel shaking. You can also use this app to prepare for an earthquake, get details on recent earthquakes, and find help after an earthquake. This app is brought to you by Mayor Eric Garcetti and the City of Los Angeles, and built on the ShakeAlert system developed by the U.S. Geological Survey.

New features

This update notifies ShakeAlertLA users who may experience shaking from earthquakes of magnitude 4.5 or greater within Los Angeles County. This was previously magnitude 5.0 or greater. Event time now displays in Pacific Standard/Daylight Time. Interruption (do not disturb) setting options allow users to be notified of an event when on silent mode. An explanation is provided on how location data is being used. And, a link to a demo of what an alert will look and sound like is provided.
