RAKSHA – Women Safety App is part of a larger initiative started by me in 2020 in my pursuit to develop mobile apps for a social cause with a special focus on research-based methodology

“An app to help the core section of our society, the females-to unleash their full potential and guide the nation to greatness”

Notable Achievements:

1) Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar 2021 (Innovation): the National Highest Civilian Honor for children conferred by President of India.

2) Top 10 Best Women Safety Apps in India by the TIMES of India in 2023 and Top 15 globally by LeapDroid Media, San Francisco.

3) The Diana Award by the British Royal Family for developing free apps that help to address social issues.

4) Featured on famous national TV shows: In 2021, on CNN News 18's Young Genius and then in 2023 August, on Zee TV's Naya Bharat, Sunehra Amrit Kaal.

Women Safety has to be our priority, as a lot of women need to travel alone or work late at night sometimes. Considering this, I have developed this app leaving no stone unturned to make world a much safer place for women to work and live with an utmost safety and no fear. Women competitiveness and progress can be made swift and far reaching if they feel safe in our society without any apprehension.

An inspiration and idea to develop this app came from my mother because she is also a working medical professional and sometimes has to work in the late hours at the clinic. At the same time we witness unpleasant incidents on females daily. Hence I do care, realize, value and can understand absolutely that women safety is a prime concern in today’s world.

This app comes with the following key features:

- Safety Tips
This screen comes with valuable safety tips that every woman should know be it at home, shopping, travelling, online, in parties, out alone or in the car.

- Women Laws
This screen lays down various laws to penalize the culprit for the offences against women.

- Escaping Threat
This screen comprises of informative tips with images to escape threat and be aware of the unpleasant circumstances.

- Self-Defense
This screen comes with various purposeful self-defense videos and images which can guide and help women to learn self-defense in case of nasty moments.

- Ratings
This screen consists of a Google customer feedback form where you can share your thoughts on how your experience can be improved.

- SOS Alert
This screen comes with a special feature to call the police and other emergency women helplines instantly by clicking on the button. Also, in case of any unsafe situation, just tap the message button to raise an emergency SOS alert to the trusted contact selected by you. The SOS alert will be in the form of SMS informing that you are unsafe and need help. Along-with, you can see nearby police stations on a Google Map based on your current GPS location with a feature to call them as well as get the directions.

- Chat Bot
The app also comes with an interesting feature, a Chat Bot to make it more interactive.
