About this app

Businesses who decide to take part in the Shop Local Program can choose to offer a 10%, 15%, or 20% discount to consumers who present a Shop Local discount card.
We will also have a featured businesses of the week and bi-weekly Lunch Mobs. The featured businesses will increase the discount they offer by an additional 10% that week only. In return, they will receive exposure in both the A.J. News and A.J. Independent promoting their business, as well as be identified in our weekly communications and social media.

Customers can receive a card by simply going to the AJ Chamber and providing a valid e-mail address- or by downloading our app. Consumers will receive a weekly e-mail which includes a list of all businesses who are currently participating.

Consumers can easily identify which businesses are members of the program by a distinguishable Shop Local sticker displayed at participating locations, listed on posters at each participating location as well as the chamber office and promoted through the weekly broadcast e-mail. Last year alone we received close to 2,000 emails from local participants!

The program is designed to stimulate local spending in the quietest time of the year from May through October therefore the discount card is only valid during that time period.
