অনুকূলচন্দ্রের পিতা শিবচন্দ্র ছিলেন নিষ্ঠাবান ব্রাক্ষ্মণ। তার জননী মনোমোহিনী দেবী ছিলেন একজন স্বতীসাধ্বী রমনী। তিনি উত্তর ভারতের যোগীপুরুষ শ্রী শ্রী হুজুর মহারাজের শিষ্য। ঠাকুর অনুকূলচন্দ্র মায়ের কাছেই দীক্ষা গ্রহণ করেন।
