This app is garbage. Connects at times, and at others it doesn't. It has to reestablish a connection EVERY time you unlock your phone, or even just switch to another app. It hasn't connected to my AVM60 for 2 days straight.

Two years late for the current line up and we get this disaster of an app. Yes, it works. You CAN control your receiver with it but could they have made it any less desirable to use? App start-up takes more than 5 seconds to read the receiver's current state. If you switch away from the app for a few minutes it rereads the current state all over again. This means if you have to adjust the volume you're waiting for ages. I've never seen an app written so badly in my life. Anthem people. Put the entire state of the receiver in a single message

It's simple, maybe could be a bit more stuff per page rather than spread out so much.... But that's just design. Functionality, well when it works, it works. When i got a new router or the new app, and it stops working, well then it sucks, because it stops working for seemingly no reason. And no amount of messing about seems to fix it. Everything else on my home network works again.. Why won't my MRX710?

Frequent disconnects and sllooowww response ruin the app. When you start the app it will take 5-20 seconds to find your AVR. If you leave the app and come back a minute later, another 5-20 seconds. No support for Google Home control either! They could not have designed the app to be more annoying. Quick tip: if you cannot reconnect, unplug AVR from AC for 30 seconds. Plug back in and switch AVR on. An absolute POS from a company claiming to make the best AVRs! Seriously this is just rubbish compared to the competition. Anthem's customer care factor appears to be ZERO. My next AVR will not be an Anthem.

pretty sad that they can't make a proper app for such good equipment. takes far too long to connect.

Worked perfectly when I first installed it. 2 hours later, it refused to connect. Reseated the Ethernet cables, restarted the app, the phone, and the AVM60; nothing worked. Very disappointed.

About this app

An app that contains the remote control function of the Anthem AVM 60 audio-video processor and MRX 1120, MRX 720, and MRX 520 audio-video receivers. Similar in functionality to the factory remote control, the remote control app functions through the local network, allowing operation from a different room. Commands relating to one another are grouped on separate pages. To change page, swipe the screen sideways.

Important notes:

1. Software v2.088 or later must be installed in the MRX/AVM.

2. The MRX/AVM must be connected to the same local network.

3. The first time that the app is used, the MRX/AVM must be powered on beforehand so the app can apply necessary settings.

4. MRX/AVM can be controlled by one IP control device at a time, and responds to the one with the more recent connection.

5. This app is not recommended if a custom IP or RS-232 control system is or will be controlling the MRX/AVM. To prevent conflicts, it is normally best to use one type of network control.
