Ustaz Azhar Idrus merupakan seorang ustaz yang terkenal di Malaysia, Beliau populer karena seorang figur pendakwah yang bebas dan modern. Ustaz Azhar Idrus atau yang biasa disingkat UAI adalah seorang ulama atau ustaz dan pendakwah bebas yang berasal dari Malaysia. Beliau lahir di Kampung Ladang, Kuala Terengganu, 12 Februari 1964.

Pada awalnya Ustaz Azhar Idrus adalah seorang gitaris sebuah grup band yang cukup populer di Kuala Terengganu dan pernah menggelar beberapa konser untuk bandnya. Namun, saat grupnya memutuskan untuk membuat rekaman, beliau memutuskan untuk hengkang dan menarik diri dari bandnya.
Kemudian, UAI bekerja pada salah satu surat kabar terkenal di Malaysia, sebagai desainer grafis. Dan Pada 1990, beliau menikah, dan memutuskan untuk berhenti bekerja, karena ingin mulai memfokuskan diri ke bidang agama. Saat itu juga beliau mulai belajar agama dan berguru kepada beberapa orang ulama di Patani, Thailand. Ia mempelajari berbagai ilmu seperti fiqh, usuluddin dan hadis kepada beberapa guru, selama kurang lebih 12 tahun.

Dan sekarang Beliau sudah menjadi seorang pendakwah dan penulis. Sebagai seorang pendakwah, Ustaz Azhar Idrus dikenal karena gaya ceramahnya yang inkonvensional, cerdas, singkat dan jenaka.
