About this app

Vishnu Sahasranamam application is an attempt to list short descriptions of the transcendental names of Lord Vishnu. While many great seers have given commentaries on Vishnu sahasranama, this app is based on Bhagavad Guna Darpana by Swami Parashara Bhattar, with references taken from various discourses and commentaries.
This app focuses only on the 1000 names /sahasranama ( i.e from Vishwam to Sarva Praharana Ayudha:).It doesn't include the introductory verses (that includes Yudhistra's queries/ Bhishma's answers) and phala sruthi.

The features of the app include :
1.Home page
Displays a small introduction about how the nAmAs are classified, according to Swami Parashara bhattar

2.Contents page
Contents are displayed based on categories (like ParaRoopam, Avataras etc..) and based on slokas. (Radio buttons are provided )
Search icon is also present in the contents page. To use this, just type a NAmA (say, "Vishnu"), it will display a list of slokas related to the name typed in the search bar.

3. Sloka page -
This page contains slokas in sanskrit, tamil and english, while the meanings are in tamil and english.
This page also has audio (of M S Subalakshmi)
Background image is displayed according to the category.
