Buku Amtsilatut tashrif yang ditulis oleh syeikh Muhammad Ma’shum ibn ‘Ali merupakan jadwal dan contoh-contoh kalimat bahasa arab yang telah jadi setelah proses penambahan atau pengurangan yang sesuai dengan kaidah Shorof baku, contoh-contoh tersebut terbagi menjadi dua bagian yaitu Tashrif istilahi yang menampilkan wazan-wazan/contoh kalimat isim dan kalimat fi’il qiyasan (qiyasî) serta perubahan bentuk kalimatnya setelah ditambahi dan dikurangi, dan Tashrîf lughowî yang menampilkan bentuk-bentuk kalimat isim ataupun fi’il ditinjau dari dlomir (makna yang tersimpan) yang terkandung didalamnya, mengenahi ilmu yang menjelaskan tentang proses penambahan dan pengurangan huruf dalam kalimat dinamakan dengan ilmu I’lâl..
