مرجع بزرگ، آيت اللّه العظمي بهجت(ره) درباره زيارت عاشورا مي‌گويد: «مضمون زيارت عاشورا گواه و روشن كننده عظمت آن است... در سندها آمده است كه زيارت عاشورا از حديث‌هاي قُدسي است. براي همين، با وجود فراواني كارهاي علمي موجود نزد علما و اساتيدمان، آنان هميشه مراقب خواندن زيارت عاشورا بودند. مرحوم آيت اللّه شيخ محمدحسين اصفهاني از خداوند متعالي مي‌خواست كلمات پاياني عمرش، زيارت عاشورا باشد، و پس از آن به سوي باري تعالي بشتابد. خداوند نيز دعاي وي را اجابت كرد و پس از اتمام خواندن زيارت عاشورا روحش به ملكوت اعلي شتافت و قرين رحمت گرديد». محدث نوري، از استادان شيخ عباس قمي مي گويد: در فضل و مقام زيارت عاشورا همين بس كه از سِنخ ديگر زيارت‌ها نيست كه به ظاهر از انشا و املاي معصومي باشد. هر چند از قلوب پاك ايشان چيزي جز آنچه از عالَم بالا به آنجا برسد، بيرون نمي‌آيد، ولي اين زيارت از سنخ احاديث قُدسيّه است كه به همين ترتيب زيارت و لعن و سلام و دعا از خداي متعالي به جبرئيل امين و از او به خاتم النبيين صلي‌الله‌عليه‌وآله‌وسلم رسيده است و به حسب تجربه، مداومت به آن در چهل روز يا كمتر، در برآوردن حاجات و رسيدن به مقاصد و دفع دشمنان بي‌نظير است
