About this app

Daily Decoration is a Christian Women s Daily Devotional. Its written by Dr.Lilian Stanley.

These are the words from the Author regarding the need for yet another Devotional and how it all started

It was 23 October 2013 when my husband suggested to me to write a Daily Devotional for women. I screwed up my face and said, “The market is flooded with Devotionals.” “No, this is for women. Devotionals for women are rare,” he replied. I demurred and protested and the matter was shelved. Now and then he would broach the subject and I would shake my head this way and that meaning neither ‘Yes’ nor ‘No’ confusing him. Life would go on smoothly like a calm ocean, the subject showing up like a shark’s dorsal fin on the surface. Now and then it would jump out like a dolphin leading to hot exchange of views. Then I would mellow down and grumpily put forth my argument: “Your Daily Devotional, Better Everyday, is very popular and people would compare mine unfavourably.” “That is different and yours will be entirely another thing,” he would counter-argue. “I will write for all age groups of women and every day will not apply to all,” I would mumble. “But one can give it to another,” he would thunder. I found no other escape route and so I started it on 15 June 2016 and completed writing on 15 April 2018 jumping over many hurdles. So the dolphin is here today (Dec 2018).

Do feel free to criticize me so the next edition can be improved. Let me also know what else you would like to be added. I believe God is behind all this and I give Him the glory for making this venture possible. The thought of my parents lingered throughout the venture in various shades like a rainbow, some-times filling me with joyful reminiscences, sometimes sad. I thank my dear husband for being a pushy optimistic man behind a sluggish pessimistic wife. He spent hours in shaping the book to printing standard. He has taken the moral responsibility for the Biblical correctness of the contents. Thanks to his deft editing. Truly, behind every successful woman is a man!
