About this app
Welcome to Hook - Create Events in your local area. Message users that are found on the map.
Hook is all map based, find anything from your favorite Coffee Spots to certain events in your local area. Connect with users to date or network. Here is a little secret… it’s better to get with people from a relatable place than just swiping around. This brings a better relation with you and someone else.
Post and find events that suit you the best. Find “the one” on the map in a nearby radius using Hook. Be honest, is swiping really effective? Many say that the chances of being successful on dating apps are slim to none. Hook aims to change this perspective by fueling organic connections that are based on deeper common interests, plus other features that bring communities together, all within the same geographic location.
Hook is a multi-feature app in which users from a localized area can meet up to date, to network, to party, or to enjoy the presence of others. By using an interest profiler, users can connect with people and topics of interest within a certain radius, making networking easy and convenient. Hook boasts easy-to-use in-app features that make navigating the app effortless for users, including its use of map mode. In Hook’s map mode, users can click on any profile (portrayed by a fish icon) on the map and can choose to leave either a direct message or a like. Once matched with a Profile each Hook user can view the profile of interest in depth for more information.
While Hook’s main feature is having its users be seen while active on the app, users may choose to turn off this setting. This allows for users to be invisible on the app, and blocks said user from seeing others on the map.
Not only does Hook bring users an option to connect within the app, users have the option to connect outside of the app as well. Hook users have the option to integrate their social media accounts within their profile to further connect past the Hook app and on a more personalized level.
How does Hook connect users together?Hook’s algorithm ensures that each user has a personalized experience via extensive personality quizzes, authentication processes, and the aid of Google Maps.
The map feature powered by Google Maps lets each user see others profiles within a certain radius. Hook gives each user a notification when another user’s interest profile in their geographic area might be of interest or when a new user pops up.
Through Hook’s algorithm and each user’s authentication process, setting up an interest profiler becomes efficient and useful. These features not only promote the legitimacy of other app users in your area, but are used as safety features to ensure the comfort of each Hook user.
Aside from private networking, public networking, Hook users can post “events” on the map to connect the community. Users can connect groups together through interests for various networking events or outings. All Hook users have the option to post an event to the Onto the map. While Hook promotes private networking amongst users, it also promotes that the best memories are made within a community.
While these are just a few of Hook’s main features, there are more to come in future updates of the app.
