I'm pleased to say that I have finally solved the problem of not being able to hear the bird song. My solution will probably work for all Android phones. It should be possible to hear the birds if Google Play Music is selected. On my Android phone another app had been set up as the default player for mp3 files. The first step was to discover which app it was. In my case it was 'Music'. I went to settings, apps and Music, open by default, clear defaults. Then I opened Aves de España...

Los nombres salen en varias lenguas, catalan euskera ingles, pero la busqueda solo va en castellano. Si sabes solo el nombre en catalan y quieres saber como es en castellano no hay manera
