About this app

Secara bahasa (etimologi) Kata Qunut berasal dari kata Qanata yang artinya patuh dalam mengabdi (kepada Allah). Qunut mempunyai beberapa arti, antara lain bererti tegak, taat berbakti, berdoa sambil berdiri, berlaku ikhlas dan berdiam diri dalam sholat mendengarkan bacaan imam.

Adapun pengertian Qunut menurut istilah (terminology), adalah Dzikir-dzikir khusus yang mencakup atas doa dan pujian kepada Allah SWT. Dengan menggunakan Syighat-syighat atau bentuk kalimat yang dikehendaki serta mencakup kandungan doa dan pujian tersebut Syeikh Nawawi al-Bantani menambahkan dalam kitab al-Tsimar al-Yani'ah bahwa Qunut adalah Dzikir-dzikir khusus yang mencakup atas doa dan pujian kepada Allah SWT.

Di dalam Islam, pelaksanaan doa Qunut secara garis besar terbagi :

- Qunut Shalat Witir
- Qunut Nazilah
