This app is typical of the goverment adage of fix what is not broken. It is very slow to load and is not accurate half the time. It also no longer shows roads and communities like a map so it is almost impossible to identify where the fire is actually located. By the time the average persons takes the time to figure out the actual location of the fire people may be at risk. Bring back the old app, it was extremely functional and far more detailed for the user.

Rarely loads and you have to cycle through force closing and reopening until it finally gives you a glimpse of functionality - a problem that never occurred for me with the old Alberta Wildfire app while it was available. When you are concerned that you may need to take the initiative to evacuate, you need fast and reliable information at your fingertips, not the current waste of time this app presents with its bonus of staring at a little fire load screen burning your time away.

Uninstalled. App should open regardless if your location is on or if you've restarted. It's a disaster info & reporting app, not a system update. I installed, waited 4 mins for it to open before I gave up to troubleshoot. Took advice from other users, restarted phone. App opened @1 min, data loaded @1 min. Controls were buggy, slow. Any time map was adjusted it would chunk & reload. Oof. Use the Alberta Wildfire website via your web browser. You get all the info with none of the headache!

A downgrade from the old app. Why does it take 20 seconds to start? Why does it randomly get stuck on the load screen? The old app was quick and just did it's job well. Also - why not have information on the old app that it had been replaced? I was really confused when a fire was a few miles from me and not coming up. Poor implementation of a critical safety system.

Downloaded after notice AB wildfire stopped working without any notice. New app is garbage. Long load times and I don't trust how recent the information is. Not cool. The fact that the app is so poorly maintained and they drop entire apps without notice means these apps could cause a false sense of security once they stop working.

I actually got the app working, and a little tip for future installers, reset your phone after installation. I had to remove one star because it give absolutely no direction or guidance to tell you to reset. However, when you live in Alberta, this really is a "must-have" app.
