Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing PARscan Beta on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.
  4. Wait a few seconds for the installation to complete. Once done, the installed app will appear on the BlueStacks home screen. Click its icon to start using the application.

Using LDPlayer

  1. Download and install LDPlayer from https://www.ldplayer.net.
  2. Drag the APK/XAPK file directly into LDPlayer.

About this app

PARscan is used with a bluetooth ELM327 diagnostic tool to read/clear Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) and updating vehicle data on several different Jeep, Dodge, and Chrysler vehicles with a primary focus on the Jeep Wrangler (JK) and Dodge Ram.

Known Vehicle Compatibility includes:
Dodge Ram Trucks 1500/2500 (2006 to 2011)
Jeep Wrangler JK (2007 to 2016)
Dodge and Chrysler Minivans (2008-2010)

It may work on newer vehicles and other makes, such as a Grand Cherokee 05+, Jeep Patriot, or Jeep Commander. If it successfully reads data for these vehicles please let me know.

This is a Beta Release!! Please provide feedback on what works and what doesn't work.

PARWidgets is limited to vehicles using a CAN bus interface. Any CAN-based Chrysler/Jeep/ Dodge vehicle might be compatible. In general, if it can read and display the programmable information (i.e. tire size, axle ratio, tire pressure limits, etc.) properly then it should be able to update it.

A low cost ELM327 clone can be used. The clones tend to be very slow. Writing Tire Size and Drivetrain Ratio information to the TIPM can require multiple attempts. A high quality ELM327 compatible device is recommended.

Totally Integrated Power Module (i.e. smart fuse box)

Amplifier
Sway Bar Disconnect Module
Anti-Lock Brake Controller
Instrument Cluster

WIFI ELM327 adpaters are not supported at this time.

The APP will stop functioning on 3/27/2018. I will extend the date with updates as needed.
