El Kojiki fue el primer escrito encontrado en Japón y habla de la primera mitología japonesa. en este existen dos grandes deidades llamadas Amaterasu, Susanoo, estos a su vez acompañados de Tsukuyomi.

El Kojiki empieza con el mito de la creación del archipiélago por los dioses Izanami e Izanagi.
Un mito extrañamente parecido al de Adán y Eva. Hay que tener en cuenta también la gran escatología de este libro, para ser un libro religioso, comparado con las otras santas escrituras de otras religiones. Es interesante compararlos.
