Every year, Americans kill an estimated 46 million turkeys for Thanksgiving. The 46 Million Turkeys Project is an art exhibit that aims to collect 46 million turkeys. This is a submission to that exhibit.

To show just how big that number is, this live wallpaper continuously adds turkeys to your background. Even at 60 turkeys per second, it would still take over a week to reach 46 million!

It's easy to imagine two turkeys, each with their own unique physical attributes and even personalities. It's harder to imagine ten unique turkeys. What about a hundred? A thousand? 46 million?

When thinking about numbers like 46 million, we lose sight of each turkey's unique attributes. They become a blurred flock of feathers instead of a collection of individuals. Even if you eat meat, it's important not to keep in mind that these animals aren't a worthless factory input.
