আমরা প্রায় বাড়িতে দেখি যে কোন কিছু হলেই বুঝে হোক বা না বুঝে হোক ডাক্তারের পরামর্শ ছাড়াই বিভিন্ন রকমের ঔষধ খাই যার পরিনাম অনেক সময় ভালো কিছু হয় না। এমন কি অনেক সময় না জেনে ভূল ঔষধ খাওয়ার কারনে মৃত্যু পর্যন্ত খটতে পারে। যে গুলো কিছু নির্দিষ্ট রোগ ব্যতিত গ্রহণ করলে হিতে বিপরীত হয় ।

আমাদের শরীরের মধ্যে সামান্য কিছু হলেই ঔষধ খাওয়ার প্রবণতা দেখা যায়, যা মোটেও ঠিক না। ঔষধ মানুষের রোগ নিরাময় করে, কিন্তু এমন কিছু ঔষধ আছে যে গুলো কিছু নির্দিষ্ট রোগ ব্যতিত গ্রহণ করলে বিভিন্ন সমস্যা দেখা দেয়। আবার কিছু ঔষধ আছে যে গুলো খাবারের আগে খেতে হয়। যেমন: গ্যাষ্ট্রিক কিংবা পেপটিক আলসারের ঔষধ (অমিপ্রাজল, সেকলো, প্যান্টোনিক্স ইত্যাদি)।

ঠিক বিপরীত কিছু ঔষধ আছে যা খাবারের আগে খাওয়া যায় না, যেমন ব্যাথার ঔষধ (এ্যানালজেসিক -ডাইক্লোফেনাক, কিটোরোলাক, প্যারাসিটেমল ইত্যাদি।) এগুলো অবশ্যই খাবারের পরে খেতে হয় ।
তাই আমাদের সকলের উচিত বাংলাদেশ এ ব্যবহৃত ঔষধ সম্পর্কে জেনে নেওয়া।
