About this app

The Presence is a proof-of-concept demonstration showing how user interaction can make 360° movies more immersive. The short film follows four characters through a séance gone wrong, and showcases two new approaches to VR storytelling: "active" and "reactive." In both versions, the viewer influences how the story unfolds, making each viewing of the film a unique experience. In the "active" version the viewer is able to jump between multiple perspectives at will; while in the "reactive" version the viewer's gaze motivates the next shot, editing the film in an organic, cinematic way.

Runtime: ~6 minutes
Strong language and violence. Mature audiences only.

NOTE: The Presence has been optimized for playback on the Samsung Galaxy S7. Other devices may experience some synchronization or sound issues.

The Presence is built for Google Cardboard and Daydream, and works with most Bluetooth controllers.
For viewers who have a SubPac, The Presence utilizes SubPac’s tactile audio technology for a more immersive experience.
