About this app

Surat adh-Dhariyat (Arabic: سورة الذاريات‎, "The Winnowing Winds") is the 51st sura of the Qur'an with 60 ayat. It mentions Abraham, Noah, the day of judgment and otherwise reiterates the essential Quranic message.

Content:
According to Neuwirth’s literary analysis, as related through Ernst, sura 51, like many early Meccan suras, consists of a tripartite structure. These three sections are corroborated in a 2016 translation, The Clear Quran, which breaks the entire Qur'an into smaller thematic sections, can be further broken down as follows:

Rider oaths (9 verses) and end-times with double portraits (14 verses), including four thematic sections in the Clear Al-Quran (Al-Qur'an) entitled, "Judgement is inevitable," "Warning to the Deniers," "Good News for the Devout," and "God's Signs in creation."
(1-9) By the winnowing winds, the burden-bearers, the ones that run with ease, etc.

(10-23) They Ask: When will the Day of Judgment be? A Day when they are tried . . .
Truly, the ones who are Godfearing will be in the Garden and springs, . . .
On the earth are signs, for the ones that are certain and in yourselves. . . .

The discourse of guests of Abraham (14 verses) and four other prophets (9 verses), including six thematic sections in the Clear Quraan (Kuran / Koran) titled according to the prophet mentioned in the corresponding verses.
(24-37) Truly, approached you the discourse of the guests of Abraham . . .
They said: Be not in awe. They gave him good tidings of a knowing boy. . . .
They said: That we were sent to a folk, ones who sin, to send on them rocks . . .

(38-46) And in Moses, then, We sent him to Pharaoh with a clear authority. . . .
And in Ad, when We sent against them the withering wind. It forsakes not . . .
And in Thamud, when it was said to them: Take joy for a while. Yet they defied . . .
And the folk of Noah from before. Truly, they had been a folk, ones who disobey.

God’s creation (7 verses) and a warning (7 verses), including five thematic sections in the Clear Quran (Mushaf) such as "God's Power of Creation," and "Warning to the Deniers."
(47-53) And We built the heaven with potency.

(54-60) So turn you away from them that you be not one who is reproached.

In the commentary of Majma’ul Bayan it is narrated from the Holy Prophet (S) that the reward for reciting this Surah is ten times the number of moving winds or breezes.

Imam Ja’far as-Sadiq (a.s.) has said that recitation of this Surah increases ones sustenance and makes it easy to earn. Drinking water in which this Surah was dissolved after being written acts as a remedy for back problems (e.g. backaches). If a pregnant woman wears a talisman of Surat ad-Dhariyaat, her pregnancy and delivery will be easy. Keeping this Surah (Surat / Sorat / Sorah / Sura) close to a dying person makes his death easy.

Reward of reciting Surah Dhariyaat:
1. The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.s.) said: One who recites this Surah, Allah would give him virtues in this world ten times the number of blowing of the winds.
2. Imam as-Sadiq (a.s.) said: One who keeps reciting Surah Zariyat in the day or night, Allah would improve the means of his livelihood and grant him much livelihood and also light up his grave with such a lamp that would keep burning and giving out light upto the Day of Judgment.

Whoever recites this surah either in day or night Allah would multiply his means of livelihood, and after death his grave would remain lit up till the day of judgement; he would be credited with virtues ten times the number of blowings of the winds in his life time.
