About this app

Visiting Vaison-la-Romaine is a travel through time which invites you into hectares of antique sites, from peristyle houses, to pathways lined-up with shops and public spaces, like the theatre. The collections discovered during the excavations are displayed at the archeological museum. There, you can upload an educational and visual material, as well as an interactive game which will enrich your tour. More than 85 listening points are available in different languages (French, English, German and Dutch) and illustrated by photographs and numerous drawings, such as watercolors from J-C Golvin and the virtual restitutions created by Aristeas Society.
A youth version mainly focused on everyday life can also be uploaded (in French). Finally, and interactive game “In Lucius’ footsteps”, is accessible in different languages to discover the city in an educational and fascinating way, for youth and adults. The uploaded comments will guide you through the medieval areas of the city, more particularly the roman cathedral and its cloister; then after crossing the gallo-roman bridge, to the medieval and modern city. Narrow streets, small squares and water fountains, the cathedral and the count castle make it a major charming town to visit.
