Mengingati Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala mendorong seseorang melakukan suruhannya dan meninggalkan laranganNya. Mengingati Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala juga adalah satu usaha yang berkesan untuk mempertingkatkan keimanan dan ketaqwaan kepada Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala, dan Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala juga memerintahkan kepada hambaNya untuk sentiasa mengingatinya, sebagaimana firman Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala dalam surah Al-Ahzab ayat 41:
أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم
يَـٰٓأَيُّہَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ ٱذۡكُرُواْ ٱللَّهَ ذِكۡرً۬ا كَثِيرً۬ا
صدق الله العظيم
Yang Bermaksud :- "Wahai orang-orang yang beriman, (untuk bersyukur kepada Allah) ingatlah serta sebutlah nama Allah dengan ingatan serta sebutan yang sebanyak-banyaknya"
