About this app

Reggae is a stream of music originally developed in Jamaica in the late '60s. Although often used extensively to name almost any type of Jamaican music, the term reggae more precisely refers to a particular style of music that appears following the development of ska and rocksteady.

Reggae is based on a rhythmic style characterized by an off-beat accent or syncope, called a skank. In general reggae has a slower tempo than ska or rocksteady. Usually in reggae there is accentuation at the second and fourth taps on each bar, with the rhythm guitar also emphasizing the third tap; Or hold the chord on the second tap until the fourth tap is played. The main "third beat" is, in addition to the tempo and the complex bass game that distinguishes reggae from rocksteady, although rocksteady integrates these updates separately.
