About this app

The app uses Oxford Dictionaries API and it shows the use of an API in android application. The program is optimized to be fast and as a search and go program. It shows the origin of a given word and the definition of it. The program first checks if the user is logged in or not by using shared preferences and then it launches the login page or the main page itself. Afterwards the user types in his information and the program checks if it’s available in the database or not if not the user can choose to go to the register page to add his account but the only downside of it is that it uses a local database on the device itself but the purpose of this program is that it is used as a prototype just to show the functionalities of the application. Obviously, in real-world it will use a server as a database and the same functionalities will remain the same.
