This is more of an app to sell the university to new people, take it more as a promo app. I as a student, don’t need a news feed or a map, what I need is easy access to the student portal so I can look at my grades, view my schedule, register online, etc... Maybe you could have given an option to make payments online so as to avoid the hours and hours of waiting in line while missing out on classes but no, instead we get a promotional app to get more people into the university and a news feed.
