ﻋﻘﯿﻞ ﻣﻬﺪی رﺳﻮﻟﯽ ، در روز دوازدهم ﻣﺮدادماه ﺳﺎل ۶۷ در ﺷﻬﺮ زﻧﺠﺎن ﻣﺘﻮﻟﺪ ﺷﺪ.حاج مهدی از جوانان حزب الله زنجان و از مداحان پرآوازه و صاحب سبک زنجانی است

حاج مهدی رسولی نامی شناخته شده برای زنجانی‌ها است. مداحی که از نوجوانی کار خود را در حسینیه اعظم زنجان آغاز کرد و به نوعی سنت‌شکن شد. تهرانی‌ها هم او را با هیئت میثاق با شهدا دانشگاه امام صادق(ع) و در کنار حاج میثم مطیعی می‌شناسند.

وی در یک خانواده کاملاً مذهبی و انقلابی بزرگ شده و فرزند شهید است. پدر حاج مهدی در زمان جنگ مسئول ستاد تیپ ۳۶ انصار بود و در سال ۶۹ در کردستان به شهادت رسید. او درباره شهادت پدرش می‌گوید: “عصر روز شهادت پدر، برادر کوچکتر من آقا محمد به دنیا آمد و همان روز دوباره یک خانواده سه نفره شدیم”.
