About this app

Oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) is a food fungus from the Basidiomycota group and belongs to the Homobasidiomycetes class with the general characteristics of a white to creamy fruit body and a semicircular covering similar to oyster shell with a slightly concave middle part. [1] The oyster mushroom is still a relative of Pleurotus eryngii and is often known as the King Oyster Mushroom. [2]
1 Characteristics

Oyster mushroom fruit body has a stem that grows sideways (Latin: pleurotus) and shaped like an oyster (ostreatus) so that the oyster mushroom

has the binomial name Pleurotus ostreatus. [2] The hood of the fungus changes color from black, gray, brown, to white, with an almost slippery surface, 5-20 cm in diameter with smooth, slightly curved hoods. [1] In addition, oyster mushrooms also have rod-shaped spores of 8-11 × 3-4μm and white mycelia that can grow quickly. [1]

In the wild, oyster mushrooms can be found almost all year long in the cool mountain forests of the region. [3] Fruit bodies are seen piled up on the surface of decayed tree trunks or tree trunks that have been cut down because oyster mushrooms are a type of wood fungus.
