About this app

Other names of this religio-philosophical game:
- Vaikuntha-Paali (Stairs to Vaikuntha)
- Parama-Pada Sopanam, Moksha Patamu (Ladders to salvation)
- Lila (game of brahman)

This program includes:
- game board
- rules of the game
- eBook with descriptions of 72 levels of the game
To play the game, You'll also require to draw a game board on paper and use a "karma die" (classic dice with 6 sides).

Game "Snakes and ladders" is a popular Indian game, but it is a simplified version of this vaishnava game, based on sanatana-dharma - eternal religion (nowadays known by misleading term "hinduism").

It is ancient Indian game based on Vedas. Originally it was made by vaishnava-brahmanas (devotees of Lord Vishnu - Supreme God of eternal Vedic scriptures) millenniums ago to teach people about the ultimate aim of millions of lifetimes in samsara (cycle of reincarnation - repeated birth and death) and how to get out of it by the process of sanatana-dharma - eternal religion of vaishnavism - devotion to The Supreme Soul, Supreme God Vishnu (Narayana, Buddha, Rama, Krishna or other forms of Brahman, God, or avatars of Vishnu). Millions of lifetimes ago souls left the spiritual world (Vaikuntha) and started playing the karmic game (in this game this activity is represented by karmic dice). Aim of game is to go back to Vaikuntha (Goloka) - eternal spiritual world.

How to play the game:
Player throws the dice of karma, and moves through the levels. Some levels have red arrows (snakes), and others have green arows (ladders). Red arrows make player go to lower levels, and green arrows make player go to upper levels. The best green arrow is Bhakti - devotion to Lord Krishna, Narayana or Vishnu (or any His avatara). One can also reach Vaikuntha by practicing sanatana-dharma (vaishnavism). Example is four Kumaras who traveled beyond brahmanda (this material universe) and reached Vaikuntha.

Life in the samsara, material world, is like this game. Player can commit sin - and he will be bitten by the snake to get results of the sin (go to hell for being too sinful). Or player can perform a good action - and thus rise to higher levels faster. Just like in the material world, aim of this board game with dice is same: to go back to Godhead, to eternal spiritual world (Vaikuntha, place without miseries).

By playing the game, player will also learn elements of vedic cosmology and philosophy of vaishnavism (sanatana-dharma).

This game can be categorized into "edutainment category": education with entertainment. There are many games nowadays, which do not teach nothing but may even encourage violence by killing enemies. In this game one will really know that all enemies are only internal sins of the person, and not the external living beings.
