About this app

This app calculates convection heat transfer coefficient, heat transfer rate and outlet temperature for internal forced convection, in circular tubes, rectangular ducts and annular tube configurations.

This app is intended as educational support material for engineering undergraduate "heat transfer" course. It is based on theory taken from "Heat and mass transfer: Fundamentals and Application" book by Cengel-Ghajar, 5th edition, McGrawHill, 2014.

Main aim of this app is to show main influence of size, temperatures, type of fluid and mass flows on convection heat transfer coefficient and heat transfer rate. Do not use this app for purchasing/manufacturing a tube/duct/heat exchanger (app logic may contain bugs). Instead, contact your supplier.
