I am currently working on a Ph.D. in soil science, and in my opinion, this a fantastic app. It's really simple to use, yet really informative. It works great on my Casio G'zOne Commando. It would be great to have a map function in future renditions, but this works great for now. My only complaint is that it can't be moved from the phone to the SD card, so it't taking up critical space on my phone. Please change this in a future update! If you do that, I'll go up to 5 stars.

I'm a licensed soil scientist in NC. Use this in the field occasionally. For reference to the individual in Florida heath dept. the units of measure are not exact just a reference lol... and there is 2.54 cm in an inch.... lol tell the health board you guys need some calculators. Soil taxonomy is an "international" profession.

Excellent app till the error bug showed up, can no longer tap soil icon to show the series characteristics. Hopefully they will fix. Use it on daily basis for oil/gas environmental impact studies.

Hey guys! I love this app, but currently I'm having some troubles with it. The GPS portion times out every time I try to use it, causing me not to be able to see the soils that I'm on! I don't know if this is a GPS problem or a problem with the App, but I'd love to get it addressed. Thanks!

I have been using this app for over 4 years to gather information about underground conditions of job sites that have limited to no underground boring reports. I have also compared the app results to actual boring locations and I have been impressed with the accuracy of the results every time. This is a very good app.

Good app but NRCS changed their Web site and none of the links to soil types work. Please fix.
