A origem do Nome: O topônimo Tataíra é a composição das palavras Tupi-Guarani ira(abelha) + tatá (fogo), significando abelha cor de fogo. O topônimo Deputado Irapuan Pinheiro é uma alusão ao nome do Deputado que representou o município na Assembleia Legislativa do Ceará. A denominação original da nossa cidade era Tataíra, por conta disso deu-se a homenagem!
