Após realizar todas as sugestões dadas pelo autor, a aplicação continua sem sair da tela de carregamento. Seria bom uma atualização desse app.

Simplesmente não funciona direito no meu Galaxy Win. Me deixa na mão sempre que preciso, porque os livros nunca carregam direito: ou as páginas ficam embaçadas ou mostram uma tela escura, ou ainda carregam o canto superior esquerdo da tela de forma embaçada. É uma pena, pois a Biblioteca Virtual é muito útil pra mim no PC, mas precisaria dela em aula.
