About this app

شاهزاده ایرج میرزا ملقب به " جلال الممالک" و " فخرالشعرا" از نوادگان فتحعلی شاه قاجار بود. او در پاییز ۱۲۵۲ یا ۱۲۵۳ خورشیدی در تبریز زاده شد.
ایرج میرزا از شاعران روشنفکر دوران جنبش مشروطه خواهی است. در شعرهای او انتقادهای زیادی از شرایط اجتماعی و سیاسی و باورهای مردم ایران با زبانی ساده و حتی گاهی پر از واژه های کوچه و بازار دیده می شود.
ایرج میرزا از شاگردان مدرسه‌ی دارالفنون تبریز بود که بعد از پایان تحصیلات معاون همان مدرسه شد. او به جز کار در مدرسه مقام های مختلفی در دولت قاجار داشت. زمانی در وزارت معارف پست داشت و زمانی در اداره ی گمرک و وزارت کشور کار کرد. پس از تشکیل دولت مشروطه و سازمان جدید دولتی او زمانی فرماندار آباده و زمانی معاون استانداری اصفهان شد. اما مهم تر از این ها او روزنامه نگار و مدیر نخستین نشریه ی دانشجویی تبریز به نام "ورقه" بود.
اشعار ایرج میرزا را می توان به دو بخش کاملا متفاوت تقسیم کرد. بخش نخست اشعار پیش از مشروطیت که اغلب در ستایش صاحبان قدرت و منصب قاجاری است و بخش دوم اشعار پس از مشروطیت که به انتقاد از اجتماع پرداخته است.
به جرات می توان گفت از میان شاعران دوران مشروطیت ایرانیان شعرهای ایرج میرزا را بیشتر پسندیده اند، از این رو نام ایرج میرزا برای بسیاری از ایرانیان آشناست. شعر شناخته شده ی "گویند مرا چو زاد مادر..." به یقیین آشناترین شعر از دیوان این شناخته شده ترین و دوست داشتنی ترین شاهزاده ی ادیب قاجاری است.
ایرج میرزا در ۲۲ اسفندماه سال ۱۳۰۴ بر اثر سکته ی قلبی در تهران چشم از جهان فرو بست و جسمش در گورستان ظهیرالدوله به خاک سپرده شد.
