About this app

Can't decide what to watch? Let Movie Picker choose for you! Add all the movies and shows you own, and hit the button so it picks one randomly. You can also choose a random letter of the alphabet, or from a set of genres.

My first app. Built because we have too many DVD's, and don't know what to watch.

It saves the list to a text file, and loads it again.

I wrote for API 19, which is Android 4.4.2 (my device) - so the app should work on old devices, and new ones.

English only, but it is capable of having localisation because of the way Android is set up.

I'm learning this as I go, and I assume I'm doing everything right, according to Google's policies. A note on your data and privacy stuff; the above listed things this app does is all that I wrote it to do.

There is no data collection (other than that text document mentioned above, which is saved to your device - and you can add and delete the contents whenever you feel like it, it isn't stored anywhere else).

I don't know what other Google libraries are involved, so anything that happens beyond this is something you already agreed to with Google. I don't see any data, nor do I want to.

New features

Public Version 1.0.

It asks for network permissions, but I don't know anything about that. Must be a Google thing.

Allows applications to open network sockets.
