About this app

落語は思わず吹き出すような笑い話からほろりとするような人情話にゾクゾクする怪談など内容は多岐に渡っています。

落語は元々「滑稽こっけいで落ちのある話し」を由来としていて、元々は「落とし噺はなし」と呼ばれていました。
現在のように「落語」と呼ばれるようになったのは明治に入ってからで、その内容も滑稽な落ち話しから人情や怪談など多岐に渡ります。

落語の始まりは京都の誓願寺せいがんじのお坊さんである安楽庵策伝あんらくあんさくでんが仏教の教えを逸話いつわや物語など様々な内容を交えて伝える「法話ほうわ」に得意の笑い話しを交えて話したことが始まりとされていますが、その他にも海外の民話をもとにした説や元々伝わっていた小噺が膨らんで落語となった説などがあります。

最も有名な安楽庵策伝説は戦国時代に大名に仕え様々な話しをする御伽衆おとぎしゅうの一人で落とし噺の名手として有名となり、彼が子供の頃から見聞きした面白い話をまとめた醒睡笑という本はベストセラーとなり、そこに収録されている話しの多くは現在まで語られまた多くの噺家に影響を与えました。

落語は昭和初期の漫才人気に押されて一時衰退しますが、戦後のテレビの普及と共に台頭してきた人気噺家の活躍やテレビ番組によって、今日まで多くの人々に愛される芸能となったのです。
