ムード歌謡（ムードかよう）は、第二次世界大戦後、特に1952年（昭和27年）の連合国の占領軍の撤退以降の日本で独自に発達したポピュラー音楽のスタイル、ジャンルの一つである。広義では歌謡曲に含まれ、コーラスを主体としたものをムードコーラスと呼ぶことがある。

ムード歌謡の起源は、第二次世界大戦後の進駐軍を相手にしたハワイアン、ジャズ、ラテン、バンドが東京・銀座の盛り場で客のリクエストによるバンド演奏が始まりと言われている。

1960年代になると、全国の盛り場を舞台にしたいわゆる「ご当地ソング」として発達をする。歌詞世界の描く時間帯はおもに「夜」であり、繁華街のある「港」や別れの舞台である「空港」をも描いた。男性ヴォーカルを有するグループが多い反面、女性の視点から女言葉で書かれた歌詞も多く、女性歌手をゲストに迎えた楽曲もつくられた。俳優・石原裕次郎がヒット曲を次々と出すと、ムード歌謡というジャンルが確立する。

1970年代になると、伝統的な大人の社交場としてのナイトクラブやキャバレー文化が衰退してきたので、古臭いというイメージが強くなっていったが、『ニコニコ動画』的には、歌詞や楽曲の完成度の高さが注目されてきて、VOCALOIDに歌唱させる動画も多い。

なお、余談として、名古屋市を舞台にしたムード歌謡はヒットしないという法則もある。また、1970年代から1980年代に流行した自動車のジャンルであるハイソカーのワインレッドの色の車内で聞くとドンピシャである。
