This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing Ambotek Five (VS, Apgar, GCS, RTS, START Tirage) on PC Windows and Mac.

About this app

Ambotek Five is an EMS, multi-modal, right-or-wrong, self-tester for vital signs, Apgar (APGAR) scores, the Glasgow Coma Scale, the Revised Trauma Score, and START and JumpSTART triage systems.

Five was created to help EMR, EMT, AEMT, and paramedic students and professionals master and remember critical medical guidelines. Students will find it useful to help prepare for a class test or a certification exam. Professionals will find it useful to help keep their skills sharp.

Features include

■ A semi-random condition generator to prevent a sequential repetition of a condition.

■ A Function Button to cycle between test modes or, with a long press, to cycle between the five test groups and the help system.

■ Isolated category testing to facilitate the learning of individual parameters.

■ Twenty total test modes.

■ A background colour change to help differentiate between the test groups and the help system.

■ A visible status bar to allow monitoring current time, phone battery level, and notifications.

■ A help system with mnemonic devices to aid in long-term retention.

■ An ability to function on a small screens. (Tested on a 480 x 320 pixel screen.)

This software is for recreational use only. Follow local protocols.

Developer's note: Some phones this app has been tested on require more or less permissions than what is shown in the store listing. The required permission(s) are apparently hard-coded into MIT's authoring software to allow access to background images or they are artifacts from pre-launch versions of Five. Assuming your phone permits it, you should be able to block all permissions without affecting the app's performance. No permissions were explicitly granted during this app's development.
