Avadhuta Gita is Mooji's favorite Non-Duality scripture. It is a Hindu text based on the principles of Advaita Vedanta (Non Dualism). The singer of the Avadhuta Gita is Dattatreya, an Avadhuta, and according to the Nath Sampradaya, the work was heard and transcribed by one of Dattatreya's disciples, Swami Kartikeya. As such, this text may also be considered a forerunner of Tantric literature as the themes, motif and orientation of this 'song' (Sanskrit: gita) are common to Shaivite Tantras, Buddhist Tantras and Vaishnava Agamas (which are also tantric literature) and ancient Yoga philosophy.

About Mooji - Anthony Paul Moo-Young, known as Mooji, (born 29 January 1954) is a spiritual teacher or guru originally from Jamaica. Moo-Young was a student of Papaji (Hariwansh Lal Poonja or H.W.L. Poonja, also know as Poonjaji) who was a direct disciple of the Advaita and Non-Dual master Ramana Maharshi. Mooji is one of the most well known contemporary teachers of the Advaita Vedanta tradition and a "rising international legend".
