About this app

The application is aimed at candidates who wish to pass the exam for 'Boat Leader A or B category'. The whole content is written according to the 'Regulations for boats and yachts'.

Attending course in some of good naval education centers of Yacht clubs is recommended, but according to the Regulations, You're not obligated to attend it, and You can apply for exam directly. We noticed that large number of candidates decides for self-learning as method of preparation for the exam. This application is aimed at them.

Of course, You can use this app as additional documentation along with any of the courses, and later application stays with you during your first naval adventures.

By definition, the boat is a sea vessel, no matter of the main thrust device, less than 12m LOA, or less than 15GT volume, carrying less than 12 persons. After 12m LOA, the vessel becomes 'yacht' (or 'ship', if not for recreational purpose). According to official regulation, skipper of category B is eligible to sail yachts up to 30GT, but only in the charter.

'Boat leader permit A/B' is valid only in Croatian territorial waters, and is not valid for professional purposes (professional skippering), except few special competencies.

Complete content is divided into 5 themes, and each theme is divided in chapters written according to the exam questions.

Presentation of content is done in a different way, than pure reading of A4 pdf document, which is proved to be not so easy on mobile screens, for longer documents. Here, focus is on the content with pictures. But we didn't forget ones who prefer pure A4 pdf doc.

Here you will find library of documents: navigational charts, navigation test, pdf booklet and real exam questions - on English of course.
